Who We Are
Architects in Apparel is powered by Integral-T, Melbourne-based digital patternmakers. We’ve been servicing the fashion industry since 2010, developing patterns for designers both across Australia and worldwide. For more information on Integral-T, click here.
Integral-T utilises superior digital tools to develop and grade patterns, including rendering patterns in 3D so we can see what they’ll look like before we make any samples. We use Alvanon’s digital bodyforms to see how our patterns will fit on real bodies. This not only helps save on materials and time, but allows us to get realistic images of a range of body types and sizes. Once we’re happy with the digital fit, we move onto physical sampling and fitting.
In 2023 the Integral-T team began working on a range of designs for domestic patterns, and in 2024 launched Architects in Apparel to provide realistically sized, professional patterns for home sewists. Our aim is to share our industry knowledge and skills with home sewists looking for stylish, reliable patterns that fit well and are designed to last. We want to encourage and teach people how to make their own wardrobes full of garments they love, and that they can wear and repair with pride.
While we love fashion, we hate seeing the amount of textile waste created and left behind by fast fashion. So many unwanted and unworn garments end up in landfill, the oceans or burned. Our goal is to share the knowledge and tools to create their own slow fashion and heirloom pieces, that fit perfectly and are built to last. Using our experience in the fashion industry, our knowledge of fit and a bit of our own personal style, we hope to inspire people towards crafting their own outfits and styles.
Architects in Apparel is the collective work of the Integral-T team, from designs and concepts to patterns and samples. We’ve all contributed a bit of our personal taste to our pattern library, from clean tailored lines to theatrical flairs. Our designs are inspired by garments we wear and would like to wear, whether it’s our everyday outfits or something a little fancier.
